Art
No Order Magazine talks with the artist.
I’m Max Franny. I am an emerging Brisbane photographer. I work with mediums such as film photography, digital photography and pretty much anything in between.
How did your career begin?
It started with my grandpa, he was a photographer based in France. He had a little dark room set up at his house and it was always so much fun going to his place. He would teach me all the dark room tips, how to expose paper, use an enlarger and how to use the chemicals to develop the film. I also did study, I did my diploma at TAFE and learnt the basics on exposure, lighting position etcetera.
What are some of the biggest influences on your art and practice?
I think the streets…definitely the streets in Brisbane. Going through West End, going through the city and everything like that, even little parts of the suburbs - there's always something interesting. If people catch my eye, I usually don't hesitate to ask them for a photo. People in the streets inspire me.

What advice do you have for emerging artists?
Just be true to yourself, but I wouldn't be too harsh on yourself either. It's a hard and competitive industry to get into, but I feel like if you just be you, people can definitely see that. It's a freeing thing.
